Job Description:

internships with DFC are offered year round in Washington, D.C.,
and can last from 12 weeks to 12 months. Duties vary based on the
department and/or office in which the intern is placed. DFC's
Internship Program offers valuable experience that contributes to
educational and professional growth, and may be applied in any
future employment endeavor, including federal, state and local
governments or in the private sector. Responsibilities This
internship offers students the opportunity to apply their training
in the areas of international development and finance, combining
both private and public sector interests. Interns will support the
Business Development Team in the Office of Structed Finance and
Insurance (OSFI) and focus primarily on identifying transactions
that meet DFCs policy and underwriting guidelines for debt
financing and political risk insurance. Responsibilities include
reviewing financing proposals and financial statements, responding
to client inquiries, providing timely and accurate project feedback
to clients, supporting proactive business development through
market and priority sector research, and developing new marketing
materials for prospective clients. Requirements Conditions of
Employment Qualifications Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled
at least part-time in an accredited college or university in a
graduate level program. The ideal candidate should have a
concentration in business, economics, international relations,
development policy, or other related subjects. Strong written,
research and oral communication skills are required. Demonstrated
research skills and ability to synthesize and distill key points
from large amounts of data and documents are required. Strong
ability with programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint is
required. Successful completion of a background investigation is
also required. Some knowledge of and/or experience in project and
corporate finance, and specific sectors and countries is desirable,
but not required. Individuals with initiative and the ability to
work independently are preferred. A one-page writing sample will be
required for interview. Education ARE YOU USING YOUR EDUCATION TO
QUALIFY? You MUST provide transcripts or other documentation to
support your educational claims. Unless otherwise stated: (1)
official or unofficial transcripts are acceptable, or (2) you may
submit a list with all of your courses, grades, semester, year, and
credit for the course. All materials must be submitted by the
closing date of the announcement. Applicants must be actively
enrolled part-time or full-time in an accredited institution
pursuing a master's program (or equivalent) studying business,
economics, finance, international relations, development policy, or
other related subjects. PASS/FAIL COURSES: If more than 10 percent
of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a
pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must
be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society.
GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is
considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school
has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study.
Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time
basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of
one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours)
should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of
full-time graduate study. FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using
education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the
qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials
have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in
interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has
been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S.
education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at
