Job Description:

notice. This position will have primary responsibility for
monitoring the Civil Commitment post commitment process, and back
up precommitment investigations. The person in this position will
have skills with engagement and community coordination of resources
with a goal of stabilization into community services. This position
will also have the opportunity to support a small caseload of
short-term intervention therapy with persons in crisis and work
with our diversion teams to stabilize and connect our Marion County
residents with long-term community supports. For those relocating
from outside of Oregon, we provide the following relocation
package: Up to $3,000 reimbursement of moving expensesRelocation
bonus in the amount of $3,000 (prorated based on FTE) as a one-time
payment upon proof of Oregon residency.The primary responsibility
of this class is to provide assessment and treatment services,
crisis intervention, and treatment services, including intensive
services, to individuals and their families with complex needs and
diagnoses or to develop and implement specific services in the
community. SUPERVISION RECEIVED Work under a supervisor who assigns
work establishes goals and reviews the results for overall
effectiveness. SUPERVISION EXERCISED Primary supervision of
employees is not a responsibility of this classification; Typical
Duties - Duties include, but are not limited to the following
Post-Commitment Monitoring Monitors all individuals under civil
commitment, while inpatient and in the community. Completes all
court and state documents and reports. Provides consultation and
training to hospitals, community members and agencies regarding the
civil commitment process and procedures. Understands and works
within the constraints of their role as a Post Commitment Monitor
as well as maintains professional partnerships and boundaries with
hospital staff and community professionals. Community Engagement
Performs post commitment and investigations, as well as BRES
services in the following locations: hospital and correctional
environments, private residences, community organizations, and
other environments as needed. BRES Case Management Connects client
with community services, including but not limited to, benefits,
community case management, community counseling, alcohol and drug
programs, vocational resources, medical resources, and ongoing
medication. Works closely with the Mental Health Specialist/
Associates at Marion County Jail and Adult Behavioral Health. Works
closely with the Psychiatric Crisis Center and the Diversion Team
to create alternatives to psychiatric hospitalization. Provide
community outreach as needed. Community includes the courthouse,
the annex, the jail, the mission or Simonka House, or any community
location where a client may be found. Provides weekly mental health
groups to participants of Lotus House. Response Level 2: In the
event of an emergency, employee makes a reasonable effort to report
to work. Employee may be requested to work an extended or flexible
schedule. Staff at this response level must complete Incident
Command System 100 and 700 on-line or in-person training.
Requirements for the Position EXPERIENCE AND TRAININGMaster's
degree in psychology, social work, recreational therapy, music
therapy, art therapy or a behavioral science field; ORBachelor's
degree in nursing, or occupational therapy and licensed by the
State of Oregon; ANDOne year of post-master's degree experience in
the behavioral health field.Qualified candidates will be eligible
for licensure supervision if hired. 1) licensed by the Oregon Board
of Licensed Professional Counselors, 2) licensed by the Oregon
Board of Licensed Social Workers or 3) credentialed or registered
through the Mental Health and Addiction Counseling Board of Oregon
(MHACBO) as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) within
the first 30 days of employment. Salem Hospital Credentialing: Must
possess, or obtain within 6 months of hire, Salem Hospital
Privileges.Must not be excluded from participation in the federal
health care programs (Medicaid, Medicare and other federally funded
programs that provide health benefits); AND must not be excluded
from participating in federal procurement (Federal Acquisition
Regulation) and non-procurement activities (Executive Order No.
Marion County will obtain a copy of the driving record for all
qualified applicants from Driver and Motor Vehicle Services and
review the driving record according to the Marion County policy and
procedure for Driving on County Business. The policy can be found

history background check, including finger printing; This is a
safety sensitive/special needs position. Final candidates selected
for this position will be required to pass a pre-employment drug

eligible for overtime.Typical Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00
a.m. - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Working knowledge of
community mental health concepts or chemical dependency case
management and treatment services; individual assessment, treatment
planning and treatment protocols; mental health disorders and
diagnostic classifications. climbs 1 floor of stairs; reads a 12
pt. font; works in areas that may be exposed to heat, cold, dust,

Marion County offers a generous benefits package to regular
employees working 50% or more of the regularly scheduled work week
and their eligible dependents. Temporary employees and part-time
regular employees working less than 50% of the regularly scheduled
work week are not eligible for benefits. Regular and temporary
employees are represented by MCEA. Salary and benefits are subject
