Adventist HealthCare's Shady Grove Medical Center is hiring a
Behavioral Health Therapist for our Emergency Services Department
in Rockville, MD. Qualified candidates will be eligible for up to a
$10,000 sign-on bonus. (*Current AHC employees not eligible - see
below under additional details.)
Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Behavioral Health
Therapist for our Emergency Services Department who will embrace
our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical,
mental, and spiritual healing.
As a Behavioral Health Therapist you will:
--- Initiates and implements complete, comprehensive psychosocial
assessments
--- Provides individual, group, and family therapies to clients and
their families
--- Participates in and interdisciplinary treatment team to propose
and develop strategies and interventions that would promote
excellent therapeutic outcomes
--- Assesses and intervenes in cases of suspected/disclosed
child/adult neglect/abuse issues Documents services provided and
disseminates information/reports to community referral sources and
agencies, i.e., DJJ, DSS, HHS, APS, CPS, LCC
--- Coordinates with the interdisciplinary team, referral sources,
and community resources aftercare and supportive services to ensure
a successful discharge planning process. Promotes positive
patient-family-community relations
--- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to diffuse
psychotic and/or behavioral crises to ensure client, unit, and
staff safety and stability
--- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Include:
--- Master's degree in social work /counseling or equivalent
master's degree in a recognized health field
--- 1 year experience preferred
--- LGSW/LMSW/LGPC/LCPC/LCSW-C in the State of Maryland
--- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification required
Work Schedule:
Shift Schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights 7:00p-7:30a
*Current AHC employees are not eligible for a sign-on bonus who are
transferring from one entity to another and/or transferring within
their entity. Employees that have terminated their employment with
AHC are not eligible for a sign-on bonus prior to six months of
returning if hired for a position offering a sign-on bonus.

Pay Range:
$29.08 - $48.25
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount or if the
position is Per Diem (offering a fixed rate), salary discussions
will occur during the screening process.
