will be responsible for maintaining, creating, and fostering
relationships with prospective and current clients, developing
partnerships with outside vendors and neighborhood partners, and
most importantly, managing and processing orders from large group

directly with clients to make a sale? Can you develop creative
engagement opportunities to promote hotel services? The Group Sales
Manager is an integral part of the revenue generation of a hotel.
You will be responsible for soliciting past and new business and
ensuring guests are satisfied. Here are some tasks you can be
expected to complete on a daily basis:
- Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to
prospective clients.
- Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue
goals through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, site
inspections and written communication.
- Prepare information for, meet with and entertain clients as
deemed appropriate by potential business from that account.
- Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear
direction to all departments in the hotel to ensure high quality of
service to customers.
- Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports
and file maintenance.
- Participate in daily business review meeting, pre-convention
meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as
required.
- Manage accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit
past and new business to ensure all revenue goals are achieved or
exceeded. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure
accomplishment of goals.
- Knowledge of hotel or facility operations, including marketing
plans, security and safety programs.
- Strong strategic thinking and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet programs such as Excel.
- Most importantly you are a people person! You must work
professionally and positively with guests and clients at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in business.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in sales or management will be
essential.
- Previous Marriott Experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong motivational and leadership skills.
- Ability to conduct market research will be essential.
- Strategic planning skills.
- Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co- workers with their
